The Creative Energy and passion of Brooke Hunyady, an avant garde photographer and filmmaker, based in New York - and represented by Refocus, London - knows few boundaries. She brings to her work a depth of feeling, and heightened aesthetic sense capturing the essence of her subjects, while arresting the attention of the viewers. Hunyady's approach takes her beyond the commerical 'slick' technical prowess that usually passes for creativity. As she explains: "I come from a family of classical artists who live on the creative edge and are totally supportive of each other's talents. The culmination of my past experience, knowledge and passion has given me a strongly defined perception of beauty. My best work has come out of mutual experiences with clients and friends, there is a trust that we share, a willingness to explore new avenues."

On the subject of her photography, Hunyady says: "The way I photograph is not easy. I primarily deal with the ungiven, the spontaneity of the passion. Nothing is set. I move into an unknown space - no security. I sense how the image will look. I embrace the path of the unknown."

For Hunyady, there is a natural transition from photography to the moving image. She states: "The process is everything, there are no failures this way. The end result is just part of the process. Moving images are natural progression for me. It is always not enough to stop life so abruptly into a frozen moment."

When asked about the future, Hunyady answers: "Today is the future. I envisage an awakening of the human spirit. Images that support human diginity. We must be responsible for what is shown to the world. We are deeply sensitive and vulnerable, if allowed to be. This is a reality I am challenged by."

"The human image, as we are accustomed to seeing via the media, is often an abomination to the very spirit we are born with. There is an insidious unconsciousness that exists in selling products. the human image is being used to market and advertise anything at grotesque levels. We, as people of all shapes, sizes, and color, are abused for the gain of a few. The masses are buying their own deconstructed selves."

"Where will it end? When the corporate executives, advertisers, art directors, writers and finally the clients themselves are courageous and compassionate enough to want to see the human condition elevated. We must see imagery that will support the human as an individual. As people, we seek to validate our individuality. We are not Barbie or Ken dolls. The human being in his or her natural state is racing towards extinction. Thus, how can we see the world being destroyed when we are destroying ourselves with unconscious choices about our own existense and truth."
